A Benediction of Thanks

"And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful." Colossians 3:15

May God bless the bounty of our Thanksgiving Day table with food, family and friends.

May He lead us into a posture of thankfulness for His provision and generosity.

May God pour His abundance on us for generations.

May we remember to follow the example of Jesus, loving sacrificially,

And seeking out the broken, like a soothing balm,

Bringing out of us a rich desire to be a light in the darkness for the lost.

Teaching us to walk by faith and not by sight.

Experiencing the fullness of life which is life in Christ

Experiencing weakness and trading it for strength,

Experiencing ashes and trading them for beauty.

May God confront our doubt,

Expose us to truth,

Shattering fear.

May God take our burdens and lighten our load, lifting our eyes to the cross

Helping us to remember the blessings He has bestowed on us

Leading us to thanks-giving now and in the years to come.

Amen
